The story is full of Appalachian and Bluegrass inspired music and is based on actual events of the media frenzy that occurred in 1925 when a Kentucky cave explorer became trapped underground. The critically acclaimed musical was written by Adam Guettel, grandson of Richard Rodgers (of Rodgers and Hammerstein).
